„Jardim dos Cavalos“ is dedicated to BREEDING and REARING the noble Lusitano Horse as well as following the classic principles in its training.
“Jardim dos Cavalos” (JdC) is a stud farm away from traffic and noise, embedded in a large nature reserve in the South West of Portugal, the Alentejo Baixo. Since 1990ies we are breeding pure bred Lusitanos. In the undulated fields, not far from Ourique and the big planes of the middle and eastern Alentejo, our Horses grow up between ancient Cork Oak and Eucalyptus trees.
Stables, pastures, indoor arena and an Olympic standard sized outdoor manege facilitate horse and rider with the necessary infrastructure.

Dr. Wolfgang Schönharting heads the JdC team...
... and he desires to dedicate his efforts in BREEDING to the development of the paces, at the same time maintaining the famous characteristics of this formidable horse, and is committed to maintain a classical approach to a solid EDUCATION of horse and rider.
